About PCTP
Pando Science and Technology Park (PCTP), which was set up by Article 251 of Act No. 18.362/2008, is a public body governed by private law that was established to provide a context for the relationships between the business sector that is committed to the innovation in Uruguay, and the science sector that is capable of developing new processes and products to improve competitiveness in national and international markets.
A science and technology park is an organization managed by specialized professionals whose main purpose is to generate wealth in the community, fostering a culture of innovation and competitiveness within the knowledge-generating companies and institutions that are located in or associated with the park, explains the International Association of Science Parks.
Science parks encourage and manage knowledge and technology flow between universities, research institutions, companies and markets; promote the creation and growth of innovative companies through incubation and centrifugal generation (spin-off), and provide other added-value services, as well as top-quality premises and installations.
