Pando Science and Technology Park closed the year with positive results
With the participation of the members of the Canelones Government's Productive Cabinet team, headed by its Coordinator, Tania Yanes, together with the General Manager of the Pando Science and Technology Park (PCTP), John Saegaert, the President of the PCTP representing the Faculty of Chemistry, Dr. Fernando Amestoy, the Representative for the Chamber of Industries of Uruguay, Eng. Fernando Amestoy, the Representative of the Chamber of Industries of Uruguay, Eng. Héctor Ordoqui, and the Representative of the Ministry of Mining, Industry, Energy and Mining (MIEM), Lic. Lucía Zeballos, took place the closing activity of the year at the Club de los Industriales, at the Technological Laboratory of Uruguay (LATU).
The PCTP Board of Directors is made up of four institutions: Faculty of Chemistry, Ministry of Industry Energy and Mining, Chamber of Industries of Uruguay and the Government of Canelones. It is the first scientific and technological park in Uruguay that has been working since 2008 to articulate the needs and requirements of the business sector with the research and development possibilities of the National Innovation System, mainly the Technological Pole of Pando.
Created by Law N° 18.362, in its article 251, the PCTP was created with the purpose of being an articulating space between the business sector, the government and education, betting on research, development and innovation, with technology-based productive activities, and to provide scientific or technological services. The Municipality of Canelones provides permanent support to the park's board of directors, with a long-term strategic vision, recognizing the importance of development in innovation and human talent, as defined in the Canary Islands Strategic Plan (PEC).
